Institute for Security and Defense Studies

The Institute for Security and Defense Studies of the Dr Franjo Tuđman Defense and Security University conducts scientific research activities in the field of military-defense and security-intelligence sciences and practice, aimed at supporting strategic and defense planning processes.

The Institute is involved in the development of higher education programmes at the University and actively participates in national and international scientific projects and initiatives.

Mission of the Institute:

• conducting scientific research in the academic field of security and defense studies to support the Homeland Security System
• engaging in collaborative defense and security projects with international partners
• contributing to the design and implementation of higher education study programmes at the University of Defense and Security “Dr Franjo Tuđman”
• providing scientific and research support to components of the Homeland Security System through knowledge transfer

Vision of the Institute:

The Institute is the leading research institution in the Republic of Croatia in the field of security and defense studies. It acts as a key driver of competent, innovative, theoretical, and conceptual thinking in the area of homeland security, offering scientific and research support to stakeholders within the Homeland Security System.
