Institute for Security and Defence Studies

The Institute for Security and Defence Studies of the University of Defence and Security “Dr Franjo Tuđman” conducts scientific research activities in the field of military-defence and security-intelligence sciences and practice, aimed at supporting strategic and defence planning processes.

The Institute is involved in the development of higher education programmes at the University and actively participates in national and international scientific projects and initiatives.

Mission of the Institute:

• conducting scientific research in the academic field of security and defence studies to support the Homeland Security System
• engaging in collaborative defence and security projects with international partners
• contributing to the design and implementation of higher education study programmes at the University of Defence and Security “Dr Franjo Tuđman”
• providing scientific and research support to components of the Homeland Security System through knowledge transfer

Vision of the Institute:

The Institute is the leading research institution in the Republic of Croatia in the field of security and defence studies. It acts as a key driver of competent, innovative, theoretical, and conceptual thinking in the area of homeland security, offering scientific and research support to stakeholders within the Homeland Security System.
