Course Description

The aim of the course is to understand the responsibility and role of commanders, the structure and organization of military headquarters, to become familiar with key headquarters functions and to master the practical creation of the basic contents of the process of planning military operations in a modern military organization and operational environment.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Compare organizational models and the structure of military headquarters in the Croatian Army and NATO
  2. Analyze the power and responsibilities of the commander and his staff in modern military operations
  3. Distinguish the specifics of planning operations at different levels of command
  4. Support simplicity, initiative and decentralized decision-making in the planning and implementation of military operations
  5. Formulate the key parts of the breakdown of the mission and the development of options for action in the military decision-making process
  6. Create the mission of the military organization, the commander's intent and the concept of operations in the operational plan or order
  7. Develop the basic format, structure, elements and content in standard operational plans and orders
