Course Description

Creating a master's thesis is a comprehensive task in which the student, through independent work, demonstrates the ability to analyze a given problem from both theoretical and practical perspectives. With the guidance of mentors, the student develops the thesis, presenting a solution to the assigned problem by applying knowledge acquired from the subjects taken during the master's program and utilizing relevant literature as needed. In the end, the student presents the thesis in written and oral forms. The emphasis is on proving competence in all the mentioned aspects, rather than solely on successfully completing routine tasks. The student is assigned two mentors: the first is a university lecturer from the component that is the thesis supervisor, and the second is from the ranks of officers or military experts of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia. The mentors propose the topic of the master's thesis, which is related to the student's chosen specialization throughout their entire academic program.

Learning Outcomes

  1. To connect the knowledge and skills acquired during studies and develop the ability for additional learning from mandatory or supplementary literature with mentor guidance.
  2. o choose, argue for, and justify the proposed solution.
  3. To model, simulate, or create a prototype for a given task with defined functionalities.
  4. To formulate and write the final thesis and draw conclusions in a linguistically and ethically correct manner, in accordance with instructions, with an average length of 30 printed pages.
  5. To publicly present the obtained results using a computer-prepared presentation with a ten-minute oral presentation.
